What an outstanding hotel Very friendly yet courteous The room was very clean and comfortable. The dinner was excellent Lovely fresh food and very good service. You would have to go a long way and spend alot more money to find a hotel like this at the price Highly recommend

great atmosphere but needs minor tweaks
The breakfast offered was excellent and generous. I found the spacious bedroom with the comfortable sleigh bed quite inviting, ensuring a restful night.
The sloping floor in the room, while atmospheric, may not be for everyone.

Lack of showers in rooms really detracts from comfort!!! Inconsistent water temperatures.

Clean place and picturesque location, loved welcoming and exceptional staff. Location: the hotel was close to a very nice pub, tourist attractions, and the restaurant. It also was in a lovely village. We booked double room for 1 night and had a very comfortable stay.

Couples looking for a quiet getaway
The staff were friendly and really cute. Breakfast was pretty good too, with a nice buffet spread that my partner really enjoyed.
It wasn't exactly cheap, but you get what you pay for, I guess.

1. The Location of The Brickwall Hotel was ideal for exploring the area of Sussex and Kent. 2.The Brickwall was a comfortable clean hotel with 'Old World' Charm in a lovely rural setting. 3. The staff were friendly, efficient and accomodating. 4. Breakfast was excellent with a wide range of choice.
1. We only had a bath in our room and I would have liked a shower. 2. The uneven sloping floor in our room (Room 3), whilst initially a novel element, did become a little frustrating after a week, especially with items rolling off the table. 3. We would have liked to have eaten our evening meals at the hotel, but the cost of evening meals was prohibitive and would have taken us completely over budget had we eaten in every night. Therefore we took to eating at the local pub opposite.

S ervice extremely good and staff very welcoming.Food good, although the toast served with my pate starter should not have been made with plastic sliced white bread!Otherwise, I enjoyed every meal immensley.
My only criticism is about the positioning of the loo roll holder in the ladies loo on the ground floor! It is impossible to reach whilst seated on the toilet! I can only assume it was fitted by a man with no imagination.

The welcome was good, the general ambiance of the hotel was good and the location overlooking the village green was great. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. The restaurant and food served was excellent. The swimming pool wonderful. All the different areas to sit and relax were good.
The only thing to say here is that the showers in the ensuites could do with improving and updating.

Good food, both breakfast and dinner, skilfully served.
Challenge to shower in a tub with no curtain to keep in water and a low ceiling above.

Very comfortable room.
Restaurant was locked on Sunday morning and I did not get any breakfast. Reception was closed, so could not find out why this was so.

My wife and I enjoyed almost everything about our stay at the Brickwall Hotel and in particular the enthusiasm and knowledge of the staff. The hotel was clean, warm and very inviting.
The one criticism was the vegetables served with dinner which I complained about to the owner afterwards and he did agree that they would not be his choice and said that I was not the only one to comment. He said that they had to vary the vegetables so that guests staying for a week were not bored by having the same ones each night. I was pleased that he was happy to accept my comment and said that he welcomed feedback. We will definitely return!

The Brickwall offered a pleasant stay with friendly staff who efficiently assisted with my business needs. The room was clean and well-appointed, with a comfortable double bed and reliable Wi-Fi that facilitated smooth work sessions. Breakfast was a highlight, served fresh and delicious with ample options to cater to different tastes.
The bathroom fixtures were somewhat dated.
